vSphere Client Design Guidelines

vSphere Client uses Clarity wizards.  If you are migrating from vSphere Web Client (Flex), you'll notice that wizards have an improved experience.

  • Follow the Clarity guidelines for designing your wizard.
Clarity recommends using two to ten steps in a wizard.

  • Use strong verb or noun phrases for step names.
Putting "Select" in front of every phrase only gives the user an extra word to read.

  • Ensure introductory text adds meaning.
The text below the page title, if used, should set context and not simply repeat the step name or page title.

  • For wizards of four or more steps, use the last step to review user-entered data.
